If it's intimate, just one or two grandparents are always welcome to join your immediate family session. No extra planning needed, just let me know they're coming. As a St. Louis family portrait photographer, I believe the photographs that matter most often hold more than one generation: grandparents with grandchildren, grown children with their parents, and all the relationships that connect a family across time.
For the right family, I also offer multi-generational and extended family sessions rooted in documentary family photography capturing your family as you really are.

Again and again, families tell me it’s in the little things-in their photos, and in how cared for they felt along the way. You won't be left wondering what to do. We'll start with a phone or Zoom call so I can get to know your family and what you love doing together. From there, I'll walk you through everything from start to finish.

We’ll need time to get to know your family, thoughtfully plan your session, and make decisions about location, wardrobe, and what you’d love to preserve. 04 / How far in advance should we book?
Please bring them. One or two grandparents are always welcome to join an immediate family session. I also offer multi-generational sessions for families who want to preserve more of their story together. We’ll still make a classic portrait or two, but I’m especially interested in everything around it, the way Grandma reaches for a grandchild’s hand, the stories everyone has heard a hundred times, the laughter around the table, and the relationships that have taken a lifetime to build.
03 / Can grandparents be included?
Most family photography sessions are around one to one and a half hours, but I don’t photograph your family with a stopwatch in my hand. There needs to be time to settle in. Time for a toddler who suddenly needs a snack. Time for your children to forget there’s a camera nearby and become themselves again. An unhurried St. Louis family photography experience gives us space for the really meaningful moments to happen.
02 / How long does a family photography session last?
Most of my sessions happen at home or in a place that already means something to your family. I offer family photography sessions throughout St. Louis, including Creve Coeur, Ladue, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, and Clayton. As a St. Louis family photographer, I’m much more interested in finding a setting that feels like you than choosing a location simply because it photographs well.
